EDIT: I don't understand how some people try to justify the existence of a god, utilizing very poor reasoning but reasoning nonetheless, and then once they've convinced themselves that there must be some kind of god out there, they automatically teleport to the conclusion that of the thousands of gods on hand, and the infinite number of gods that one could come up with, one specific god must exist, which happens to almost always be the one they were raised to believe in, and they're pretty certain that they're right.

Can someone explain to me how this thought process ISN'T indicative of a mental illness?

Probably the only religion that got it right in the slightest was the ancient sumerian religion, they knew about the 10th planet (and that would require knowing about the other 8 or seven). Considering the fact that they knew of several things far before we did, the annunaki could be the real god IF they are really gods.

You're soooo right, but I don't even know half of those religions!

Why is diversity such a bad thing? Atheism destroys many things, but I have never seen it create anything.

You are reacting to a message not found in this picture.

Diversity in terms of religion isn't good or bad, it simply decreases the probability of any one god existing.

Also, atheism isn't a worldview or a religion, it is just the lack of belief in god, so obviously it's not going to create anything, the same way not believing in alchemy doesn't itself create anything.

Great saying at the bottom there  the thing with any kind of God is that there is equally a slittle to prove they exist or don't ;) if he does, I'm sure he wouldn't condone killing others for otherwise petty reasons though as a few religions would teach. But it's a sensitive subject that helped the world stay sane throughout development, but maybe today would be better off without since religion causes more disputes than human harmony :hmm:

We are all atheists about most of the gods that societies have ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further.
